Backgammon BoardSetup – Simple Steps
The backgammon board setup is very easy. Many peopletake a look at the board and the pieces and become totally confused. However,it is not as difficult as it first appears.
The basic set up is done on a board that containstwenty-four points around the playing board. The points are usually two colorssuch as blue and red or black and red. The points are colored to match theplaying discs.
For the next part of the backgammon setup, make surethere are thirty playing discs. Each player will need fifteen discs each of thesame color. Then number the pointsstarting with 1 from your home board and going to 24 on your opponent’s homeboard. Number 1 is the point in the lower right-hand corner near you and point24 is the upper right hand corner of the outer board.
Each player has fifteen playing discs of the same colorwhich they will place on various points around the board. Both players will then place the playing discsonto the board. Each player places two checkers on the 24 point, five on the 13point, three on the 8 point, and five on the 6 point. This is the basicbackgammon board set up.
